The Second Edition of the Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic featured gourmet meals and cooking courses taught by distinguished chefs, a series of wine and tequila tastings, and festive gatherings at the luxurious The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, and “The Punta Mita Cup”, a two-day golf tournament on Jack Nicklaus’ Two Signature Courses Bahia and Pacifico.
New additions to this celebrated anthology included renowned Chefs Richard Sandoval, the father of Modern Mexican Cuisine, from Sandoval Restaurants, featuring 23 Restaurants across USA, Mexico, Dubai & Qatar, famous Chef Michael Mina, with his Bourbon Steak award-winning Michael Mina’s Signature Steakhouse and popular Mina branded restaurants. Abraham Salum of Salum Restaurant in Dallas; Brazilian Rodrigo Oliviera from Sao Paulo’s critically acclaimed Mocoto; Celestino Drago from Celestino Ristorante in Pasadena; Andrew Ormsby from Ormsby Catering in Dallas; Thierry Blouet of Café des Artistes in Mexico; Luis Acuna from El Pobre Luis Buenos Aires in Argentina; Sergio Chavez from Las Marietas in Mexico; Patricia Quintana of Izote in Mexico; Brenden Collins from Waterloo & City in California; Bernard Casavant of Wild Apple Kelowna in British Columbia; Kaz Okochi of Kaz Sushi Bistro in Washington DC, Monte Estruch of El Cingle in Spain, among others.
As a part of the four-day extravaganza, guests enjoyed playing in “The Punta Mita Cup” on Friday in a team scramble format on Pacifico, and on Saturday in a two ball best ball format on Bahia with exciting prizes for the winning team, hole in one, closest to the flag and longest drive. Each participant received a new TaylorMade Ghost putter; one of the best putters in golf!
Also, enjoyed the world’s best golf simulator technology at our special FULL SWING GOLF tent, where they showcased Punta Mitta’s famous “Tail of the Whale” and had the chance to win great prizes and the opportunity to win an AUDI!
The Travel & Leisure Gala Dinner at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita featured guest Chefs Michael Mina, Richard Sandoval, Patricia Quintana, Kaz Okochi, José Salas, Claudia Fossa, Ramón Bramasco and Executive Chef Philippe Piel with guest winemakers, Mezcal, Minerva Beer and tequila masters. This extraordinary Gala was a tremendous success and exceeded even our expectations!
