Our Second Annual Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic is another great success surpassing their goal for number of visitors. Celebrity chefs, tasty tequila, great golf, five diamond resorts and plenty of sunshine…. each is a perfectly good reason to journey south of the boarder to luxurious Punta Mita, Mexico. Why not enjoy us in a festival bringing each of these together in one fabulous weekend of food, wine, tequila and golf, playing Jack Nicklaus’s designed courses Bahia and Pacifico.
The opening event was presented by American Airlines at the Sea Breeze Beach Club. The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort graciously transformed into a lavish celebration of Food, Wine & Tequila to kick off the II Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic.
Led by the executive Chefs of both hotels Sylvain Desbois, Executive Chef of The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and its AAA Five Diamond Carolina restaurant and Philippe Piel, Executive Chef of Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita’s four restaurants, a team of guest chefs from around the globe enchanted attendees with their creations while famed sommeliers, tequila masters and winemakers excite their pallets with pours of some of Mexico’s and world’s finest wines and tequila.
“It has always been both challenging and ultimately rewarding to host an event like this,” said Carl Emberson, General Manager of The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort. “What we wanted,” he said, “and what we achieved, was to provide a taste of Mexico’s essence through playing great golf and tasting great food and drink, mostly of Mexican and Latin American origin. Combined, our event activated all the senses: touch, taste, smell, sight, hearing – all, in their own ways, defining the colorful, diverse spirit of Mexico.”
A great start to a special weekend for aficionados!
