EVENT DESCRIPTION​

The Match Play series is a single-elimination, win-to-advance individual match play bracket. The match play bracket will be revealed in late October, with matches completed as follows:

FORMAT 18 holes. Match Play, full HDCP. The higher-handicapped player receives the full difference in course handicap between the two players; the lower-handicapped player plays from scratch. Tee selection will affect course handicap, and matches played from different tees will have applicable reductions applied.​

DIVISIONS There will be Men’s, Ladies, and Men’s Senior divisions, based on participation. Men qualify for the Senior division is they are 65 or older. Those men qualifying for the Senior division may, at their discretion, participate in both men’s divisions.

TEES The Men’s division will be played from the BLUE or WHITE tees, Ladies from the RED tees, and Senior Men will play from the WHITE or GREEN tees. Tee selection must be determined prior to the 1st match played. Men chose their tee for the entire tournament.​

DETAILS All matches MUST be completed by scheduled completion date. Players failing to make a reasonable effort to complete their match shall be disqualified and their opponent will advance to the next round. Disqualification decisions shall be at the sole discretion of the tournament director. If both competitors fail to make a reasonable effort, advancement will be determined by coin flip.​

COURSE Matches for rounds 1, 2, and 3 may be played on any mutually agreed course. The semi-finals and championship matches must be played on Punta Mita golf courses. Course selection shall be agreed by competitors. If no course can be mutually agreed, course selection shall be determined by coin toss.​

AWARDS The winners of each division will be awarded trophies at the Closing Awards Dinner, to be held at Pacifico Beach Club on April 4th, 2020.​

9:00 a.m. Shotgun start – 18 holes. Pacifico.
FORMAT
2 Person Better Ball. HDCP: Men: 90%, Ladies: 95%. IF a 10-stroke differential applies, the B player course handicap will be reduced as necessary.​
1:30 p.m. Drinks and light lunch during scoring at Golf Garden. ​

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD
7:30 a.m. Light buffet breakfast available for all tournament participants at Tail of the Whale.​
9:00 a.m. Shotgun start – 18 holes. Bahia.
FORMAT
2 Person Scramble. HDCP: 35% of Player A, 15% of Player B. IF a 10-stroke differential applies, the B player course handicap will be reduced as necessary.​
1:30 p.m. Event Luncheon and Trophy Presentation following play at Golf Garden.​
