Last week, this writer had the opportunity to participate in the above-mentioned event at the renowned Saint-Cloud Golf Club in Paris, which hosted this exclusive tournament. It was a four-day event for the Amateur players with a Pro-Am on Day 1 – pairing three amateur players with one Pro from the European Senior Tour – followed by three days of competition for the Pros and the Amateurs who played alongside two different Pros each day. It was truly a memorable experience for all involved.
Punta Mita had a strong representation of both players and spouses in Paris for the event. Kupuri’s Dr. Roberto Greenhow performed the best from the Punta Mita representatives over the 3-day Stableford competition, while this scribe formed part of the winning Pro-Am Team, together with the final winner and former winner of the European Tour French Open and former PGA player, Frenchman Thomas Levet.
Paris proved to be the ultimate destination for such an event as one could mix golf, dining, cultural visits, shopping all into one spectacular week. The golfers had a chance to play with European Legends such as the host Jean himself, former Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley, British Open Winner Paul Lawrie, U.S. Open Winner Michael Campbell, Frenchman Thomas Levet – along with the rest of the field, all members of the Senior European Tour. To all of the Punta Mita participants…Bravo!!! Viva Punta Mita!

El 2021 Legends Open de France presentado por Jean Van de Velde
La semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de participar en el evento antes mencionado, en el renombrado Club de Golf Saint-Cloud de París, que abrió sus puertas para este torneo. Fue un torneo de 4 días para Amateurs con un Pro-Am en el Día 1, haciendo equipos de 3 Amateurs y 1 Pro del European Senior Tour, seguido de 3 días de competencia para los Profesionales y Amateurs quienes hicieron mancuerna con 2 diferentes Pros cada día. Fue una experiencia realmente memorable para todos los participantes.
Punta Mita contó con una fuerte presencia de jugadores y esposas en este evento Parisino. El Dr. Roberto Greenhow, de Kupuri, tuvo el mejor desempeño entre los representantes de Punta Mita durante la competencia de Stableford de 3 días, mientras que su servidor formó parte del equipo ganador Pro-Am compuesto por el ganador final y ex ganador del European Tours French Open, y ex jugador de la PGA, el mismo Frenchman Thomas Levet.
París probó ser un gran destino para eventos como éste, que combinan golf, gastronomía, visitas culturales y compras, todo en una semana espectacular. Los golfistas tuvieron oportunidad de jugar con Leyendas Europeas como el mismísimo anfitrión Jean; el ex Capitán del Ryder Cup, Paul McGinley; el ganador del British Open, Paul Lawrie; el campeón del US Open, Michael Campbell; Frenchman Thomas Levet, junto con el resto de los miembros del Senior European Tour. ¡¡¡Bravo a todos los participantes de Punta Mita!!! ¡Viva Punta Mita!
