Kupuri has been a crowd-pleaser since its opening some seven seasons ago. However, why stand still when one can ascend even higher? For the 2021-2022 season we are enhancing the experiences in each of our beach clubs, and Kupuri is no exception.
Our Kupuri Beach Club will expand its culinary offerings with the debut of two new Asian restaurant concepts, Asai Japanese Cuisine and Ka. Located in the private dining are under the majestic Palapa at Kupuri, Asai Japanese Cuisine will present a more traditional Japanese menu by one of Mexico’s leading Japanese Chefs, Yasuo Asai – who is an avid Punta Mita fan. Asai Japanese Cuisine will feature a sushi counter and thoughtful Japanese dishes blended with the local seafood and produce of Riviera Nayarit. Kupuri’s main palapa has been transformed into Ka, a restaurant serving an innovative menu of Mexican–Asian flavors in its alfresco palapa setting overlooking Litibu Bay. Its menu has been designed by one of our repeat Guest Chef’s Diane Dimeo, who happens to be of Korean-Persian descent. Now, having lived in Mexico for more than a decade, she artfully combines her love of Mexican cuisine with the flavors from her childhood.
On the beach during the day, you can enjoy a feel-good, fired-up Mexican menu with an Asian twist right from the wood-burning grill. Imagine a family-style feast of fire-roasted red snapper, served under the shaded, beach-front Pergola of Kupuri, followed by the inevitable snoozes in the sun, lulled by the sound of gentle waves in Litibu Bay.
The mid-morning-to-dinner menu serves up a mix of ceviches, satays, sushi, tacos, grilled octopus, prawns, and more, fitting the laidback vibe of Kupuri. It’s idyllic for a rosé-sipping long weekend. For those in the mood for something stronger we recommend the Flecha Azul Mitarita, undoubtedly the best cocktail on the Punta Mita peninsula. After sunbed napping, everyone drifts back to the bar, rosé in hand, for late-afternoon music to match the mood.
The visual redesign is by the very same tastemakers who created the ambiances at the Sufi Ocean Club, El Surf Club, and the refurbished Pacifico Beach Club. Under their expert direction, the Kupuri Palapa has a new look, defined by a rustic, easygoing aesthetic that blends in with the surrounding environment. Combined with the stunning views, it’s a perfect setting for enjoying the Asian shared plates of satays, curries, buddha bowls, and more. Kupuri Beach Club, for many, is one of the loveliest corners of the Punta Mita peninsula.
Kupuri II still revolves around its thatched, open-air bars with swing seats and wide-smiling barmen (known for making the best frozen margaritas!). Order a magnum of Whispering Angel rosé to go with your grilled prawns peri-peri, fried calamari, stuffed crab shells, or fish skewers from the barbecue, go easy on the house-made chili sauces. Post lunch, settle into a board game or paperback thriller, dip into the swimming pool, or head over to the Navi spa treehouse for a massage.
Kupuri II is all about being the most family-friendly spot in Punta Mita, and with this refresh of the Club, we welcome “Kiddou Punta Mita,” a brand-new service to be offered this season. This is not your conventional Kids Club, it is a space where the main objective is to generate great experiences to all our Kiddous through a dynamic series of games, workshops, activities, and endless educational materials. Our highly trained staff become children again joining in the fun with each child who visits. Kiddou Punta Mita is led by founder and specialist in childcare Blanca Carrillo, her care and devotion in childrens educations has inspired KIDDOU a well appointment playground concept to promote in the kids a sense of self-confidence, new learning skills and much fun while parents take a well-deserved rest by the pool.
Wellness in Kupuri is taken to another level this season with an additional Pilates studio to complement the existing installations, and additional yoga programs. The Regina Donde Boutique is back, stocked with her latest, acclaim-earning resort collection. Punta Mita Ocean Sports offers a wide array of water sports as well as a dynamic and fun activities program rounds out the Kupuri II experience, making this the place for creating magical moments and memories with your friends and family.
