Fun in the Sun: The 5th Punta Mita Beach Festival

The 5th edition of the Punta Mita Beach Festival may well have been the best year ever, with over 300 people flocking to the beach to enjoy fantastic food, creative cocktails and exciting sporting events at the beautiful Kupuri Beach Club.

Yoga classes guided by special guest Zaira Gomez gave a Zen start to each festival morning, leading to an exciting family-friendly activities schedule courtesy of Punta Mita Ocean Sports, Surf Mexico and Punta Mita Expeditions, with world class-professional athletes leading the fun. And while it was friendly competition, it was competition no less! Congratulations to all the festival winners.

While the competitors refreshed with drinks from sponsors Electrolit, Zoe Water and Corona, spectators on the beach enjoyed amazing drinks created by Israel Diaz from El Alquimista Cocktail Room, featuring cocktails from sponsors Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire, Tequila Patron and Cointreau. And of course, no Punta Mita event would be complete without amazing food. Festival goers sampled different ceviches of shrimp, fish and octopus, fresh salads, specialties from the grill including sausages, steaks, octopus skewers and grilled fish, fresh from the ocean.

This year’s Punta Mita Beach Festival was organized by Punta Mita and hosted by Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Punta Mita Ocean Sports and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort. Special thanks to all the above-mentioned sponsors and special guests, as well as Kova, Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau and Las Marietas.

Next year’s festival is scheduled for August 4th and 5th, 2018, and you won’t want to miss it. As Carl Emberson, former General Manager of The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort who has recently returned to our community as the Director of Marketing & Operations of Punta Mita, said, “It’s so exciting to be back and to give continuity to this event. Thank you to all of our sponsors and participants who have helped make this a signature destination event. The sense of community is incredible and the Punta Mita Beach Festival is a don’t miss event every year.”
